Cranberry sauce
This homemade cranberry sauce brings a delightful balance of sweetness and tartness, making it the perfect addition to any holiday meal. With just a few ingredients, you can whip up this festive favorite that pairs beautifully with savory dishes and adds a pop of color to your holiday table.
- 100 g dried cranberries
- 200 ml water or apple juice for extra sweetness
- 50 g sugar adjust to taste
- 1 tbsp orange juice optional for extra flavor
- Zest of ½ orange optional
In a small saucepan, combine the dried cranberries and water (or apple juice). Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to rehydrate.
Add the sugar and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries are plump and soft, and the sauce has thickened.
Stir in the orange juice and zest for extra flavor. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
Remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly before serving. In a blender or food processor blend the sauce so that the cranberries break up more.
Serve with pork fillet, gammon, brie appetizer or desserts
