Arrange the crackers on a serving board.
Top each cracker with a slice of salami.
Cut cheddar into thick, rectangular blocks that resemble candle shapes.
Place a cheddar block upright in the centre of the salami using a toothpick pushed through the top to hold it in place.
Add a pickled onion on top of each toothpick to resemble a candle flame.
Chill for a few minutes before serving, or enjoy immediately as a festive snack.
