Boerewors & Chakalaka Crunch Wrap
A crispy, flavor-loaded wrapstuffed with boerewors, spicy chakalaka, and cheese—Mzansi meets Mexican!
Ingredients
- 4 wraps
- 500 g boerewors cooked and chopped
- 4 tbsp chakalaka
- ½ cup cheese grated
- ¼ cup lettuce chopped
- ¼ onion diced
Instructions
- Using a paring knife, cut 2 smaller rounds from two of the wraps. Use a cereal bowl as a guide to get an even size.
- In a bowl, mix together chopped boerewors, chakalaka, cheese, lettuce, and onion.
- Place the filling in the center of each large wrap.
- Top with the smaller wrap cutout, then tightly fold the edges of the large wrap over the center, creating pleats.
- Flip the wrap over so the pleats face downward and stay sealed. Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Place the wrap seam-side down and cook for about 3 minutes per side, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the pan and repeat with the second wrap.
- Slice and serve warm!
