
Rooibos hot chocolate
A uniquely South African hot chocolate infused with rooibos tea for a warm and comforting drink with subtle earthy flavours.
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 rooibos teabag
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1–2 tbsp sugar or honey
- 1 tsp cornflour optional
- Pinch of salt
To serve:
- Marshmallows
Instructions
- Heat milk in a saucepan until steaming.
- Add rooibos teabag and steep for 5–7 minutes, then remove.
- Whisk in cocoa powder, sugar (or honey) and cornflour.
- Heat gently, stirring, until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Add a pinch of salt.
- Pour into a mug and top with marshmallows.
Notes
Use 50g chocolate instead of cocoa for a richer hot chocolate
