Ingredients
For the malva:
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon Jam
- 70 g Smarties chopped
For the Sauce:
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C. Grease a small baking dish or individual ramekins.
- In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish or ramekins. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the pudding is baking, combine the cream, sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved.
- When the pudding is done baking, poke holes in it with a skewer or fork. Pour the hot sauce over the pudding, allowing it to soak in.
- Serve the pudding warm, with custard
Notes
Try the homemade custard if you have time. It's absolutely delicious with the chocolate malva
