This refreshing twist on a classic white hot chocolate is perfect for warmer weather or when you're craving something sweet, creamy, and citrusy. The combo of zesty lemon and velvety white chocolate is surprisingly addictive and ultra-luxe. Serve it over ice for a chilled treat, or blend it for a lemony white choc frappé. It’s simple, different, and effortlessly elegant, no barista skills required.
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp white hot chocolate powder
- ¾ cup milk warm, to dissolve powder
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- ½ –1 tsp fresh lemon juice start small and adjust
- ¾ cup cold milk or plant-based alternative
- Ice
- Optional: whipped cream extra zest, or edible flowers for garnish
Instructions
- In a small jug, whisk the powder into the warm milk until smooth.
- Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
- Add the cold milk and mix to chill it down.
- Fill a tall glass with ice and pour over your lemony white choc mix.
- Garnish if desired — whipped cream + zest = dreamy.
Notes
If it curdles slightly, it’s usually from too much lemon juice. Stick to fresh milk and go slow on the juice.
You can also blitz everything with ice for a creamy frappé-style version.
