
Chocolate Brownie Cherry Trifle
A rich and indulgent brownie cherry trifle made with fudgy brownies, silky chocolate mousse, cherry jam, fresh cherries and whipped chocolate ganache. This easy layered dessert is perfect for entertaining, festive occasions or a make-ahead crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 1 batch brownie premix Prepared according to package instructions
- ± 400 g store-bought chocolate mousse
- ¾ cup cherry jam (180 g)
- 1½ cups fresh cherries pitted and halved
Whipped Chocolate Ganache
- 200 g dark or milk chocolate finely chopped
- 1 cup fresh cream (250 ml )
To Finish
- Cocoa powder for dusting
- Extra fresh cherries for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare the brownie premix according to the package instructions. Cool completely and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- For the ganache, heat the cream until just hot, pour over the chopped chocolate, rest 1 minute, then stir until smooth. Chill until thick, then whip lightly until spreadable.
- Layer brownie pieces into the base of a trifle dish or glasses.
- Spoon over chocolate mousse, then add cherry jam and fresh cherries.
- Repeat layers until the dish is full.
- Finish with whipped chocolate ganache, dust with cocoa and decorate with cherries.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
